If you want the perfect birthday cake…you’ve gotta make it yourself
If you’ve been here a few times, you’ll probably realize that this is the first dessert that appears on the blog. The reason is fairly simple: I almost never eat sugar and I don’t have a sweet tooth. I’m fortunate not to crave the poison and I go weeks on end without it. But my man? Well, it’s a different story! So for my birthday (happy 32!), he asked me to make a birthday cake. Even though my friends advised not to spend so much time in the kitchen on my b-day, I honestly couldn’t think of a happier place to be. I felt overwhelmed with the million cake recipes and, truth be told, most of them make me…well, not looking forward to the final product. That’s how I decided to put together my own cake and the hell with the rest. I had some help from Sanda, I stole the dough recipe from her book, with few adjustments. My conclusion is thus:
* Even if you’re not a sugar babe, give cake a chance, but make it your own
